Knaresborough Anglers’ have the fishing rights to a 4 mile long prime stretch of the River Nidd close to Harrogate on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. There is vehicle parking at both ends and mid-way along the beat on both banks.
Appleby Carr is a picturesque three acre lake with a central island that is home to nesting swans and Canada geese. Bankside seats, casting platforms and a fishing shelter complete the angling experience. The lake is open all year round and is regularly stocked with a mix of rainbow, blue and specimen brown trout.
In addition to the main stretch of fly water the Club also has a 1.5 mile stretch of mixed course and game fishing further downstream towards Wetherby. This contains good stocks of Chub, Barbel and Pike for further variety throughout the year. Day Tickets are available for this stretch.
